Descente

It all began in Japan in 1935 when Ishimoto Shoten created a menswear line that would capitalize on the Japanese baseball boom, designing uniforms for a local team. Twenty-years later, Japan’s first professional skier joined the company’s board and started developing ski apparel. In 1961, Descente - meaning downhill skiing in French - was trademarked, and the brand designed the first of their innovative downhill racing suits that would be worn by Olympic medalists. Today, Descente crafts some of the ski industry's most technical ski and snowboard apparel, including a sophisticated selection of waterproof insulated ski jackets for women and men. From the elegant women's Quebec Coat for the après to technical men's Regal Jacket for steep powder turns, Descente products are staples on premiere mountain resorts from Canada to Asia.
